Productive day

Yesterday was one of the most productive days! I hit the ground running by baking bread, 3 loaves. Not real happy with the way it turned out though. I tried a new recipe for a simple whole wheat bread and it just wasn't right. I need to find the right white to wheat flour ratio. I don't like a too dense bread. It is still good, just not a favorite. I grind my own wheat also so I need to perfect the grind as well. We are one loaf down so it must not be too bad. ;)

While the bread was rising I made a double batch of laundry soap. There is a recipe floating around facebook so I figured it'd give it a try. It is a little different from the recipe I usually use. I like the way it turned out. I love that I can make things like that myself. And I love the savings too!

The freezer. The freezer is always an issue with Sam and I. It's never neat enough for him. I like things neat and organized but the freezer is the last to see organization in my house! But yesterday I tackled it! It took all of 10 minutes to do. I don't know why I put off things like this for so long when they only take a few minutes to take care of. Not to mention it would keep the hubs happy. I also cleaned out the linen closet and a few cabinets and organized the craft supplies.

Then we hemmed and hung my new dinning room curtains. When we went on vacation we stayed in Phoenix for a few days and they have an Ikea. So of course we had to go! I picked up curtains for my dinning room and bedroom. Love them. Love Ikea. We also found a sun wall light for the girls room. I have big plans for their room and can't wait to get started on it. Anyway, my dinning room looks more finished now that the curtains are up. And I repurposed the curtains that were in the dinning room and used them for the pantry instead of doors. I like the look, its warm and homey.

Not a very exciting day (or post) but it felt so good to get things accomplished!
